Cambois Art Show 2024, The Tute
20 & 21 July 2024
The Tute invited me to curate their first exhibition; Cambois Art Show 2024, in the hall at the former Cambois Miners Institute.
Over two days, 150 people visited the exhibition of 20 local artists’ paintings, sculptures, prints and photographs.
The show paid homage to the architecture and former uses of the building. The picture rails were re-hung with framed paintings and collages, photographs of circus performers defied gravity on the former boxing bag holder, and handmade wooden ladders displayed images of Cambois.
